Deb Hood's virtual swim for clean water
I've been with Buzzards Bay Coalition in New Bedford for 3 years now and am about to embark on my 4th Buzzards Bay Swim. As the Event Manager, I ask folks to raise hundreds (and thousands!) of dollars for clean water each year. And each year, I've done the fundraising, too, to stay in touch with how challenging it is - and how rewarding it is - to raise funds for clean water.
This time, in honor of our 25th anniversary Buzzards Bay Swim on Saturday, June 30, we're asking our most dedicated swimmers to see if they can double the amount they raised last year. Together with your help, I raised $1,115 last year, so I'm shooting for $2,250 for this special anniversary. Any dollar amount, however small, will help me get there. All donations are tax deductible and support the Buzzards Bay Coalition's work to preserve clean water through science, advocacy, education, and land protection. This is a smart, efficient, effective organization that has protected over 8,000 acres of vulnerable watershed land in the last 3 decades - your gifts will be put to excellent use!
Lastly, with my Dad's passing in January, we designated the Buzzards Bay Coalition as a place to make memorial gifts in his honor. He loved living in Dartmouth and boating and beaching with his family on Buzzards Bay. He volunteered at the Swim and was always one of my biggest donors, supporters, and helpers at this event - and in life!
Going forward, the Bay will be a place for us to heal, to remember, and to celebrate the legacy of both of our parents, now passed on. We appreciate any support you can offer in protecting clean water for future generations in one of both of their names.
With so much love,
If you prefer not to donate online, you can fill out this form and return it along with your payment to the Buzzards Bay Coalition, 114 Front Street, New Bedford, MA 02740. If you're sending a check, please make sure the swimmer's name is written on the check.
