Past Buzzards Bay Watershed Rides

Since the first Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride in 2007, hundreds of riders, volunteers, and community members have participated in this annual fall cycling event. Check out results, photos, and award winners from past Rides.

2022 Ride

Extreme winds altered the course for the Watershed Ride on Sunday, October 2, 2022, but 175 hardy riders pedaled from Little Compton to Rochester, with others completing the route another day. Cyclists raised $333,000 to support the work of the Coalition.

2021 Ride

415 cyclists pedaled across Buzzards Bay on Sunday, October 3, 2021, smashing the record of 307 set in 2019. On a beauitful, sunny, fall day, cyclists raised $397,000 for the Coalition, another record performance.

2020 Ride

On Sunday, October 4, 2020, 270 cyclists pedaled the western end of the Buzzards Bay watershed from Sakonnet Point to Fort Taber in New Bedford for a metric century ride. Under sunny, blue skies participants raised over $200,000 to support the Coalition's work in a Covid-friendly event.

2019 Ride

Participants set new records for registration and fundraising at the 13th annual Buzzards Bay Ride on Sunday, October 6, when 307 cyclists pedaled across Southeastern New England on a bright, breezy autumn day to show their support for clean water. The event raised over $215,000 to support the Coalition’s work.

A record 242 cyclists pedaled across Southeastern New England under sunny, blue skies to show their support for clean water at the 12th annual Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride on Sunday, September 30. The event raised over $162,500 to support the Coalition’s work.

Skies were clear, sunny, and blue as a record 226 cyclists pedaled across Southeastern New England to show their support for clean water at the 11th annual Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride on Sunday, October 1. The event raised over $155,000 to support the Coalition’s work.

150 cyclists biked for clean water at the 10th anniversary Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016. This was the first Watershed Ride that included a 100-mile "century ride" from Little Compton, R.I. to Woods Hole, Mass.

2015 Ride

120 cyclists pedaled for clean water at the ninth annual Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015, raising over $90,000 to support the Coalition’s work.

2014 Ride

140 cyclists showed their support for clean water during the eighth annual Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014. Together, they raised over $75,000 for the Coalition.

2013 Ride

130 cyclists raised more than $63,000 for a clean and healthy Buzzards Bay during the seventh annual Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013.

2012 Ride

On Oct. 14, 2012, 147 cyclists pedaled across Southeastern Massachusetts during the sixth annual Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride, raising over $68,000 to support the non-profit Bay Coalition’s work.

2011 Ride

Gray skies gave way to sunshine just as 116 riders began the fifth annual Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011. In total, cyclists raised over $55,000 to support the advocacy, research, education, and conservation efforts of the Coalition.

2010 Ride

The fourth annual Watershed Ride on Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010 welcomed 100 cyclists to support and celebrate the Buzzards Bay watershed. These riders raised over $48,000.

2009 Ride

On Oct. 4, 2009, the third annual Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride welcomed 56 cyclists who raised nearly $37,000 to support the Coalition's work.

2008 Ride

The second annual Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride was held on Oct. 5, 2008 with 63 cyclists. The Ride raised over $34,000 to support the programs of the Coalition.

2007 Ride

A new Coalition event for the fall season, the first-ever Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride on Oct. 14, 2007 attracted 41 cyclists and raised nearly $23,000.
